Other Ways To Help
Metroport Meals On Wheels accepts no federal, state or United Way funding in order that we may serve any age group without financial qualification or restrictions. Over half of our funding comes from local donors including individuals, civic groups, churches and businesses. Proceeds from Sadie’s Upscale Consignment and Resale located in Roanoke provides approximately one-quarter of our funding. In addition, clients and participants contribute as they can. Here is a percentage breakdown on where donations are procured: Individuals 26%, Events 21%, Resale 25%, Foundation, Civic, Church 12% and City contracts 9%
Fundraising efforts include the Annual Golf Classic and The Classic at Roanoke’s Benefit Dinner.
For 28 years, Metroport Meals On Wheels has hosted a full day golf event that has attracted business leaders and supporters from across the NE Tarrant County area! This event is our largest fundraiser of the year, so please plan to join us as we celebrate our 29th year on 4/6/20! The theme of this year's tournament is Tartan Day on the Fairway. In honor of National Tartan Day, all golfers wearing plaid will be eligible for a prize drawing.
For 24 years, The Classic at Roanoke owners, Chris and Curtis Wells, have opened their hearts and their restaurant for a dinner benefiting Metroport Meals On Wheels. Chef Charles Youts and the entire staff proudly present a spectacular four-course menu complete with wine pairings to the friends and supporters of MMOW.
